Kitchen Orangery
All of the above applies plus the use of laminated hardwood concertina
doors with the threshold sunk to allow the kitchen tiles and garden
decking to become one when opened up. An extractor tube was built
up through the lead decking to allow the cooker to be positioned
in the middle of the floor creating a working galley from which
to cook while watching Jammie Oliver on the plasma screen at the
other end of the room.
A recent Heritage Hardwood Orangery
using 'k' argon gas filled sealed unit glazing plus Unicomfort
glass to roof lantern. Window / door
frames, lantern joists and fascias were all made using certificated
seasoned hardwood from renewable sources and treated with 3 spray
applied coats of Sikkens wood treatment. The external cappings holding
down the glass on the lantern were made from powder coated aluminum
as were the roof vents to ensure a maintenance free roof .Steel portal
frames throughout are always used by Heritage Conservatories and
Orangeries to support the significant weight from the lead decking,
another feature ensuring the permanent peak performance of the building.
Inside the plaster finished ceiling conceals 2 separate microspot
lighting circuits operated off dimmer switches as is the ceiling
chandelier to achieve many lighting moods. Underfloor heating adds
the final touch of luxury to the Heritage building.
Whilst our clients
live in a property of substantial size, they
required
a conservatory to grant them
more space for entertaining and parties. The brief
wasn’t particularly specific other than for
a conservatory with a ‘wow factor’, that
was warm in winter and cool in summer that could
be used on a daily basis. The clients confidence
in us as a company to deliver this solution was so
high, that they spent the first month of construction
in New York leaving us to get on and build it. Specification
